With the start of a new year comes new everything: new experiences, new memories, new people. It's the time to leave the past in the past (where it belongs), and start off on a new page. There's so much excitement that comes with a new year. You never know what's going to happen, who you'll meet, or where you'll go. However, there are things at the end of the year that need left in that year. Things that should've never happened, and don't need spoken of.
Harambe
Leave it to Americans to mourn a gorilla for months on end and then continue to make countless memes about him. If there's one thing I'm tired of hearing about, it's this. We get it, the gorilla died. Let's please move on.
Negative people
Nobody needs to be surrounded by negative people. Drop those people in the new year, it's not fun being surrounded by people like that. Don't let them make your days worse; it's not worth it.
Self-Doubt
Stop doubting yourself. Anyone can do what they set their mind to, no matter what anyone else has to say. If you think you can do it, then go for it. Only you know your limits. You're the only person who has a say in what you can (or cannot) do.
Comparing Yourself to Others
What's the point of comparing yourself to others? There isn't a point. Be nobody but yourself, and the best version of yourself. Stop comparing yourself to other people. It's not worth it to compare yourself to a completely different person.
The Kardashians
I write this as I sit on the couch next to my sister who is watching the Kardashians, and that's when I realized that they don't really do anything. What do they actually do other than complain about their lives on TV? Nothing. The answer is nothing.
Netflix and Chill
Who decided it was a good idea to mix binge watching your favorite shows and sexual activities? Needless to say, it's stupid. It's much more fun to just wrap yourself in a blanket and enjoy the Netflix alone (at least I think).
The Words "Bae" and "Fam"
There was never a point to these words, and there will never be a point to these words. They just need to end.
Donald Trump
Nobody has much say in leaving him in 2016, but we can all dream, right?
High Expectations
When you set high expectations, more often than not it ends in disappointment. When things aren't exactly what you pictured them to be, disappointment and anger is the result. It's not worth it. Don't set expectations that you know are unrealistic. Just don't do it.
