My mom is my best friend there are no if, and's, or buts about it. Think about it, that is the ultimate best friend. She will always have your back, give honest advice and would always be down for a good time. Although all those statements are true, my mom is so much more than all of that. With having the coolest mom and best friend on the block, it's safe to say I have learned a thing or two about myself.
1. Unconditional Love
My mom sacrificed her time, health and life to ensure my sister and I were living the best lives we could growing up. Within the years, her number of complaints were few no matter how much she was on the go or suffering. My mom has taught me what being selfless truly is and how to give unconditional love to almost anyone.
2. It's Not Easy Being A Woman
You basically learn what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Your opinions will be discounted and sometimes not even cared for. People will step all over you and not care just because you're a woman. But, you also learn you can stick out and grasp everyone's attention. It's a battle being a woman, but in the end all becomes worth it.
3. Never Look Back
You learn the "what if's" and "could have beens" don't matter in the present. You learn to not dwell on the negative and let it put a damper on your day. The past is there for a reason and it gives you an even better reason to keep moving forward towards good. You learn everything up to this point has gotten you here today and you need to embrace it whether it's good or bad.
4. She Know's Everything About Everything
The saying "mom knows it all" could never be more true! To this day I still wonder how this woman can know so much about so many random things. From there being a stain in my shirt to helping write a check, my mom knew it all. Years and years of knowledge pays off, especially when you have someone to hand it down too. It makes me wonder if there is a mom know it all handbook somewhere out there and if she got her hands on it (ha-ha)!
5. How To Create Your Own Happiness.
My mom has taught me there is always something to smile about. If you had a horrible day, you can at least smile that the sun is shining outside. My mom always told me negativity and frowns rub off on others. I was always taught to appreciate the little things, no matter how small they are.
6. There Is Nothing Wrong With Having A Sensitive Side
My mom always had a sensitive side, she just was stubborn and never showed it. Whether she was taking care of me as I was sick or was supporting me while I was down, the love and tenderness was something amazing. Behind every strong woman is emotions and there is nothing wrong with that.
7. How To Be A Better Woman And Amazing Mother
You've been raised by the best, right? I was raised by a mom who truly sacrificed for her family, loved unconditionally and also knew how to have a little fun. My mom is an amazing woman inside and out. If I could be half the individual she is, I know I will turn out just fine.
