When You Give A Girl A Doodle

Doodles are a special breed and are hard to explain, but they are the best dog that a girl can have.

When You Give A Girl A Doodle

I have always been the biggest dog lover, ask anyone who knows me personally! "HI BABY YOU'RE SO CUTE AN SWEET" is the usual thing you hear from me when I spot a dog anywhere around town.

Christmas morning 2016, my sister woke me up around 4: 30 a.m. I was so confused as to why she was up before me and why we were starting our regular traditions before the sun was even up. She told me to meet her in the living room when I was ready. I stumbled down the hallway still sleepy, and still confused. I looked and saw my dad recording me and both my sister and mom smiling from ear to ear. I look down and see a small little bundle of sunshine trying to run toward me. My heart almost burst, and I mean it. I had been wanting a puppy for years. I was so overwhelmed with the feeling that I just cried and cried.

My dream had come true.

So my doodle is a very... special doodle. Melbourne is her name and she is an Australian Labradoodle. All that means is, instead of a regular 90-pound doodle, she's a smaller version of only about 25 pounds.

Melbourne is the light of my life and my literal child. I take her everywhere I am allowed to, and some I'm not (the people in the mall gave me some weird looks lol.) I can be having the worst day ever and then I see her bounce over to me and attack me with kisses and love then my day is completely turned around.

French fries from McDonald's is her favorite snack, and the ice cream I get for her after the dog park is probably her second favorite snack. The goofy things and silly personality traits that she has made me love her, even more, every time I see them. Constant cuddles and sassy attitude she gives me on a daily basis makes me smile.

Doodles are a special breed and are hard to explain, but they are the best dog that a girl can have. I am so very thankful for my goofy girl.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
