You Know You're The Youngest When...

"Is this your youngest?"

You Know You're The Youngest When...

Being the youngest one in the family definitely has its perks, but I'll never let the downsides go.

Here are 25 characteristics I have/things I do as the youngest:

1. You get away with anything you want because you parents think you’re a lost cause.

2. Our family/friends never forget to remind us that we’re spoiled. We are..but..yeah..

3. Everyone thinks we’re younger than we are. The annual Christmas eve party consisted of people swearing and then trying to cover it up.

4. We're servants to our older siblings. The amount of times I’ve gotten my sister popcorn and water and the amount of times she didn’t give me the dollar that was promised!!!!

5. The whole family refers to you as “Little ___”. “Oh, its little Julie! Someone take a picture of little Julie next to the Christmas tree.” AUNT BEV I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!!

6. We're oblivious to everything/no one ever tells us anything . “We’re going on vacation in an hour?!!? WHAT?!”

7. We got especially mad when we found out that santa and the easter bunny aren't real. “Mom, is the Easter bunny real?” “Well, honey, I believe in the Easter bunny!” Older sister: “JULIE, YOU REALLY THINK THAT THE EASTER BUNNY COMES INTO OUR HOUSE AND LEAVES YOU A BAS-“ “YOU MEAN THE ENTIRE FAMILY HAS BEEN LYING TO ME FOR YEARS? LET ME OUT OF THE CAR”

8. Everything we say is unintentionally funny/can’t be taken seriously

9. Anytime you run into your parents friends, they introduce you as “Yup, this is my youngest!”

10. Always compared to siblings. “You’re older sister didn’t get a cellphone until senior year of highschool, so you aren’t getting a cellphone until senior year of highschool.” OK WELL SHE WAS BORN 20 YEARS AGO WE’RE ON IPHONE 6 HERE MOM IM RUNNING OUT TIME.

11. We’re the closest with our parents because we’re their last one so they gotta make it count.

12. Always blamed for everything, except for most of the time we were actually the ones who did it.

13. Confessing things to our parents years after they happen. Like spilling red Gatorade on their brand new sheets and then flipping them so it looked it never happened. Or getting pink hair dye in the brand new kitchen table. Or that one time when I cut my mom’s hair in her slee- NEXT!

14. Only wearing hand me downs...except for when grandma brought me to the mall for a shopping spree :)

15. When your older siblings were away at college and your mom remembers you exist so she buys you things for fun

16. “Oh, I had both of your older sisters! And your dad!" Said every teacher ever

17. Being the only one not in grandma’s section of each cousin’s senior photo. But I had my own table of my middle school pic so…….

18. Not being able to drink at family parties because we aren’t 21 :(

19. We're the most adventurous. Somehow I’m the youngest and I’ve biked across the golden gate bridge?

20. Our rooms are always the messiest

21. We always sleep on the floor or a chair on family vacations. ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LITERALLY STILL AND IM 18.

22. We never got control of the remote. But we’re still obsessed with Spongebob and watch it WHENEVER it’s on.

23. Loving when an older sibling went away to college because that meant you got your own room for a few months

24. Your mom forgot you at the store at least once. I went to best buy with my mom when I was 13 and started playing on an iPhone when I look up to see my mom WALKING OUT OF THE STORE WITHOUT ME!!!!

25. Last but not least, we've always been and always will be the CLEAR favorite.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
