Know The Stages Of Depression
The Little Things

As someone who's very open and public about having anxiety and depression, I think it's important to know the signs of depression. They can be so subtle, and difficult to notice, but they're there. For me, I noticed a lot of these after my dad passed away. Anyone can have depression, and it just takes something to trigger it. Know the signs and help yourself or someone else.

1.Over-eating

If you catch yourself eaten honor snacking just ‘because’, it's one thing to snack because you're bored, but it’s another thing to binge stress eat.

2.Over-sleeping

Sure you might be busy and stuff, but if you catch yourself over-sleeping and being unmotivated, don't overthink it.

3.Skipping classes or work

One major sign of being unmotivated.

4.Randomly crying

Ever just randomly started crying and didn't understand why? And unsure of what you're sad about?

5.Misanthropy

Basically a fancy word for thinking everyone is dumb and annoying.

6.Sitting in the shower

Had those days where you just sit in the shower and let the water hit you while you just think, and think?

7.Time going by slowly

If time feels like it's slowing down, try to be more aware of your surroundings.

8.Not eating

People forget that even eating disorders are triggered by depression. Some binge eat, some don't eat at all.

9.Not getting any sleep

Insomnia goes hand in hand with anxiety & depression.

10.Not showering

Any time you feel unmotivated or lazy, force yourself to get up and get ready for the day!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
