In college you meet so many people. And when I say so many, I literally mean you pass by a new face every time you step foot outside on campus. If you are one of the lucky ones, you have met your forever friend out of these many faces. Some call it a best friend, but I call it a forever friend for a specific purpose. Personally, I find that I have a few very close friends that I refer to as best friends, so the word best friend just doesn’t do this position justice. Here are some signs that you have met your forever friend.
1. You can’t go a day without talking
Almost like having a significant other, you and your forever friend never go a day without talking. Whether this is laying in each other’s beds talking about what outfits you are going to wear out that night and the exact order of frats that you are going to hit. It could be Face timing everyday on summer break, ranting about how your mom tried to give you a curfew and how much you miss campus. Either way, you two are always in the loop.
2. Everyone refers to you as * insert name * and * insert name *
Let’s be real, you cant go anywhere without people wondering where your other half is. For example, goes it sorority chapter alone “* name *is coming, right?” Goes to frat party “Did * name * go home this weekend?” Eats on campus alone, “Oh I’ve never seen you without name *!’...Honestly, you get use to it.
3. There are zero secrets
And yes, this included even the most disgusting details that you really didn’t NEED to know.
4. You are brutally honest with each other
Who else is supposing to tell you your outfit looks bad or to redo your hair? These kinds of friends always have your back, with the best intentions in mind.
5. You have way too many pictures
What should I post on instagram? The one of us on spring break? The one from formal? What about the cute laughing one from that one party? Selfie of us maybe?
6. You are overly protective of each other
Anyone messes with my friend, they mess with me. Your forever friend is someone who will always back you up and stand by you.
7. * Get’s in an argument for ten minutes * * Spends the next 15 minutes laughing about how stupid the argument was *
8. Weird names in each other’s phones
This goes without much explanation, but are we really friends if you don’t have the most embarrassing name possible for me in your contacts????
9. Their food is your food
A true friend pigs out with you without judgment.
10. Someone that supports you endlessly
No matter the circumstance, your forever friend will support you and love you endlessly.
