To the Kids Stressing in High School

High school is one of the most important parts of your life. An average high schooler is at school for eight hours a day, which would be fourty hours a week which is as much time you spend at a full-time job. You grow up with the same people for years, and some new people as well. You get to know everyone on a personal level, because you are around the same people so much. Do not stress about who you are now because you are so much more than you know. None of your high school years will matter after you graduate.

You are not who you are in high school.

No matter who you are, in high school you are judged either way and have your own title. You are either a part of the popular group, or of the normal people. After high school, you become your own person and responsible for yourself. In high school, you still are living with your parents and depend on them.

You don't see the same people every day.

The people you had to see every day, you don't have to. You no longer will see the people who brought you down, but you no longer see your best friends either. You all move on with your lives, and you learn to grow up. There of course are still going to be those people who don't. Of course there are going to be new people you don't like that you are going to have to deal with. But always remember, being civil with someone even though you don't like them doesn't make you fake, it makes you a more mature person.

Growing up is a part of graduating.

When you graduate, you have to grow up whether you like it or not. You either are going to college or start working. You can have fun, but its not like high school where all you do is mess around. You don't get to drive around after class before school events to go get food. You don't get to go home and ask mom for cash because you have a game that night. You are on your own and there are good things about that but bad as well.

Don't worry about high school. Its a rough four years of your life, but it can be a lot of fun as well. To the kids stressing about high school, its quite simple. It does get better after you graduate and become independent. College is a lot of fun if you go, you make a lot of new friends and the teachers in college get to know you on a personal level, especially at a community college. You have your own schedule, and class time is nothing compared to the free time you are going to have in college. It is a lot more fun than high school ever was. You make friends that know nothing about you, and still care about you for who you are. Thats more important to find friends like that instead of friends that only care about you for what your last name is.

For the kids who decide to work after high school instead of going to college. Not enough people tell you that its okay. Its okay if you work instead of going to class, that does not mean people who receive a degree are better than you. You can find a good paying job and not go to college. I am so sick of hearing people say you will be nothing if you do not get a degree. Everything you do, matters.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
