It is just a gorilla. Yes, it is awful, it is horrible that something like that could happen, but it is just a gorilla. We have issues and news far bigger than that, yet we focus on a gorilla at a zoo. These animals come and go, some are shot or euthanized, but how many have we seen make national news? There are animals who die every day and they are not on the news. Yes, there was a child involved, which made it some big national news, but it was just a gorilla.
I guess I am just upset that there is a gorilla making headline news when we have soldiers fighting for our freedom that are not getting the attention that this gorilla has gotten. We are more worried about a mother's ability to care for her child than we are a veteran who is being denied care. Memorial Day is about remembering those who have fallen while defending our rights and I saw more of this gorilla and this mother's parenting ability than I did Memorial Day posts. It is sickening to me that we are more worried about what someone is wearing at an awards show rather than the family who just lost a father, a brother, a sister, a child, a husband, or a wife. We have plastered the Kardashians' all of the social media and we could care less about the family who just had a family member deployed.
It breaks my heart to see the news. It is always about how much someone hates Trump or Clinton and how everyone is going to vacate the country after this next presidential election. Well I say, GO! If you don't want to live in the land of the free because of the brave, then you can remove yourself from this country.
This rant isn't just because of a gorilla... it is so much more than that. It is because I cannot stand the fact that our soldiers are risking their lives EVERYDAY and they hardly receive any credit. They are giving up everything to make sure someone has the opportunity to even take their child to the zoo in the first place. They are the reason that we do not have to constantly live in fear of our lives. Our military is the most underappreciated part of our government. WHY?! They are the ones that run this country for all that I am concerned. If it weren't for them, where would we be? Many of them are ridiculed and disowned for even making the decision to fight for this country, I applaud them. If I had an ounce of courage that they had...man the things that I would be capable of doing.
I guess all I am trying to say is stop worrying about how someone else is with their kid. Mistakes happen. Stop worrying about this poor gorilla. Let's start giving our military men and women more credit where it is due! They deserve more than they get.
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED, ARE SERVING, OR HAVE DIED WHILE SERVING! YOUR SERVICE IS MUCH APPRECIATED!
