People talk all the time about wishing they could do extravagant things in their life and wanting to make changes in the world. But, many people are unfortunately held back from conquering their fears and making their wishes come true. That's due to the fact that many people are stuck in their comfort zones and fear what could happen when they leave.

Dan Stevens once said, "The comfort zone is the great enemy to creativity; moving beyond it necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fears." And that's it, right there. People are afraid to conquer their fears, so scared that they believe the possibilities of a single moment of being uncomfortable is a single moment too much.

Life is so short and precious, that if you just blink your eyes you will miss so much. No one knows how long our time is here, and so far no one knows how to reverse time. Many people under utilize their time on earth. So many people are stuck waiting on this "great perhaps" that they hope one day will come true. But sadly for many it never does. Everyone falls asleep in the same old city dreaming of something that they hope to one day attain, but just like everyone else, they never do. There are so many people who have so much talent, but so little ambition that their minds only work at half capacity. If these same people took a single moment to leave their comfort zone, then perhaps greatness would reach them.

Many people fail to recognize that this is their life and at any given moment they can completely change it for the worse or the better. If you want something in life, you need to stop hoping that it will come to you and you need to go get it. You need to leave the feeling of being safe and content on the back burner sometimes. It's OK to take a chance and just risk it all, because maybe, just maybe, the reward will be higher than the risk.

You can also learn so much about yourself by putting yourself out there and leaving your comfort zone. You may realize that something you were once afraid to try is actually something that you enjoy. You my find out that someone you were afraid to talk to may actually have a lot in common with you. Or, you may find out that something is not for you. But, you'll never know any of this if you never try to put yourself out there.

At the end of the day you will think back on everything you missed because you were too afraid to try. You won't sit there and remember all the things you've missed and be glad, you'll regret what you didn't even try. Great things can happen, but making them happen is up to you.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
