It is a well-known fact that any time a book gets turned into a movie, the book is always better than the movie. But that was not the case for me while watching “Me Before You” this weekend. Although movies are mainly for our viewing pleasure, there are lessons that can be learned from them. Movies can awaken our consciousnesses, allowing us to perceive things in a whole new light. Whether we’re moved to tears or given the courage to keep going, some of the best inspirational quotes can be found in movies.
When Will Traynor told Louisa “Lou” Clarke in “Me Before You” that “You only get one life, it’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible," I felt like he was talking directly to me. This movie showed me the importance of being yourself, no matter what other people may think, and that it is important to live this life rather than just existing in it.
