Inspiration will not always find you, you have to go out in search of it much of the time. On rare occasion the creative muse will arrive at your doorstep and without even knocking she will come right on in and grace you with her seductive presence...She will stroll in as if she owns the place and with her and her only you will create magic. She will coax out of you the most beautiful combinations of words that will reach deep inside the hardest of souls and illicit a profound emotional response. Or she might guide you through a series of notes or chords to create a melody/rhythm that will be the basis for an amazing song. You cold have spent hours ,days or weeks trying to force this process and that hypnotically dark mistress will lead you to that special place where that magic spell will be cast and out from the cauldron will come; well you get the picture... But let me tell you she is one allusive bitch! Just when you think she is here to stay she will up and leave you . No dear John, no explanation and absolutely no warning and you will be left feeling hopeless, drained and utterly without purpose.
That is until you get your poop in a group and get go out and start searching for something to be passionate about. Until your dark mistress returns you need to do your best to find something to sustain you. The replacement you find may not be as wonderful and may not embody perfect like she but it will be something to live for.
If you haven't found your niche, your form of creative expression or your "thing" then go out and find it! Go out with fervor and passion and beat on doors, tap on windows (careful there that can be criminal), post flyers, take names and numbers, do what you have got to do to find your "thing"!
