Let's face it, being in a long distance relationship is pretty tough. Especially when you see other couples holding hands, hugging and doing other couple-y things that couples do. Without a doubt, video calls and Snapchats do not make the distance much better no matter how much we want it to. I think girls handle long distance relationships differently than guys for the most part. Coming from a girl who recently discovered that her boyfriend will be going to a grad school that is five hours away, I've already started thinking about how different life will be by not having him around every day. Here are just a few things that are already rattling my brain:
1. You know how jealous I am ... find you some cool guys to study with instead of girls.
2. I say I'm happy for you, but my heart wants you to stay.
3. It's definitely not the same as you being here, but thank God for Facetime/Skype.
4. Send me a Snapchat every hour ... wait, make that every half hour.
5. If you don't text me back within one day, are you just really busy or were you eaten by a bear?
6. You have finals next week? I guess that means you'll be studying and celebrating my birthday with me at the same time.
7. You tell me to invite one of my guy friends to formal 'cause you don't want me to be alone, but we both know I would come get you before that ever happened.
8. If you want to get a hair cut or change something about your appearance, tell me first so that I won't be surprised when I see you in person.
9. If I want to get a hair cut or change something about my appearance, I would hope that you would honestly tell me if it looks terrible.
10. Find another school to go to so I don't go crazy!
Just kidding, you guys! Obviously, a lot of these are extreme and I'm just trying to get you all to laugh! The truth is that it made my day to see his face light up with joy when he first found out he got accepted to Lincoln Memorial University's Graduate School. He's making his dreams come true and I'm just happy to be able to watch him grow and be successful. I will never fail to be supportive and cheer him on as long as he lets me! I'm super proud and can't wait for graduation!
