College is stressful and typically the first semester is the worst because you are learning the campus and still figuring out what you want to do in life.

There are things you can do to help yourself in college that will help you stay in shape, pass classes, and stay in the game.

1. Don't sign up for early classes.

If you are a person who likes to sleep in don't go for those 7:30 or 8:45 morning classes. more likely then not you are not gonna make it on time. Stick to times you know you will be able to make it on time.

2. Commuters park in a central loaction of your classes.

Don't park far away from all your classes and walk. Park somewhere central to your classes it will help you save time.

3. Get a planner and use it.

Stay organized. Color code stuff. Don't procrastinate on any assignments. It may seem hard not to but in the long run you will be happy you stayed organized and didn't wait till the last minute.

4. Find a note buddy in each class.

the first day of class is usually the day that professors do "Ice Breaker Introductions" so use this time to make a new friend and help each other. So that in case one of y'all are not in class, the other has notes to give.

5. Eat actual food.

The hardest thing in college is eating right. No not like healthy but actually eating food. It's easy to get so caught up in everything that you forget to eat a meal or two. But you at least need to snack on something to keep you going

6. Make use of the fittness areas

They don't make the gyms and fitness classes for certain people. They are there for the students and faculty to use as well. There are some great fitness classes that start at six in the morning till four thirty in the afternoon. Take advantage of it.

7. Don't skip class

Yes you are in college, yes you can decide if you want to go to class or not. Think for just a second though, you are here to get a higher education. Someone paid for you to go here. Going to class makes it easier for you to learn the material plus you are not wasting someone's money.

If you are on scholarship they make sure you're in class and if you miss you must have a valid excuse for some classes.

8.Get to know campus before classes

Yes they do orientation to show off campus but before classes start don't be afraid to roam campus and look for your classes. It will helpful so you won't be scatter brained on the first day.

Plus if you start to roam campus you might find other places on campus that will be useful to you during the semester.

9. Sit near the front in classes

Okay this sounds so nerdy but it really helps when you sit in the front because that means the professor can get to know you and help you. Also, you are less likely to fall asleep or get on your phone.

10. See if there are on campus jobs

Work sucks I know. But in college you have to make money so you can spend it on other things like gas, food, or pets. Sometimes on campus jobs are not so bad. They may have flexible hours that allow you to work when you need to.

11.Have fun and do what you want

College is stressful no doubt but it still a place to have fun and chill when you have no class or work. There are things you can do in college that don't involve parties but what is college without a few parties? Don't get to caught in them though. You are gonna crush this semester.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
