In Other News: Anything and Everything But The Election

Hey you!

How's it going?

With all the negativity going around, I'd thought I'd remind you of some stuff to look forward too.

Aren't you excited about the holidays coming up? Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means so is Black Friday! Leaked deals include really discounted 4K HDR TVs, iPads, Fitbits to hover boards, video games and more. It looks like Target will have the best deals this year and their ad is already out.

And after you're done Black Friday shopping, the Gilmore Girls revival will be out on Netflix! It's one of the most anticipated Netflix releases this month and they've been leaking teasers left and right, including a slip up that Rory and Dean only share 1 scene. Rory and Jess (and Logan) shippers have an even higher chance of happiness this season.

Award show season is fast approaching too with the American Music Awards on November 20th. Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah are hosting, Twenty One Pilots, Green Day, Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande and more will perform.

Are you planning on watching the "super-moon" Monday night? It's going to be the biggest full moon since 1948, and there won't be another one until 2034. Based on projections, it's going to look huge.

Have you seen the Mannequin Challenge? Participants hold a position as someone walks through the area filming what looks like a freeze frame. They've been getting bigger and more complex. Check out the Michigan men's gymnastics team, Destiny's Child, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Orange High School challenges.

Hairspray Live is coming to Fox on December 7th! The cast is star packed, and if it's anything like Grease Live, you won't want to miss it. Plus, they did a Mannequin Challenge too!

Still need more to watch? There's a ton of movies coming out before the end of the year. Among the best ones to catch this Christmas include The Edge of Seventeen (11/18), Moana (11/23), and Office Christmas Party (12/9). For any Harry Potter and/or Eddie Redmayne fans, Fantastic Beats comes out this week (11/18) and for any Star Wars fans, a spin-off called Rogue One will hit theaters later in December (12/16). Passengers (12/21) is going to be at the top of my hit list; a sci-fi romance with Jennifer Lawrence, you can't find a better combination than that!

And if that's not enough, of course, the Superbowl is only a few months away on Feb 5. Lady Gaga is performing the halftime show, and there will definitely be some awesome commercials.

There's a lot to look forward to, even if I didn't mention it. Don't let any bad news get in your way!

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
