Taking an introspective look into ones life is an often times daunting and unnerving task. It’s alarming to come to gripes with fact that there are certain parts of ourselves that aren't exactly exceptional. Its interesting how few people really explore themselves at a deep level and how it really impairs the ability to self-improve. Self love is important but the ability to be able to acknowledge our own flaws, accepting them and attempting to improve upon them is also fundamental in being a better more complete person.
Introspection requires objectivity, its necessary to look within ourselves see the things about ourselves we’re doing wrong and be self aware enough to improve. These improvements make you different in your life they may seem subtle and meaningless at the time and it’s not until much later where you look back and realize how much has changed.
In reality though we live in an environment where mimicking the style and persona of famous people is more valued of individuality and originality. I’m guilty of it too, who isn’t, but it’s a farce to constantly and continuously make ourselves believe that something is revolutionary just because a celebrity does it. In reality in the only things that actually have value are things we give value. I hope in the future I spend more of my time accepting myself flaws and all, while surrounding myself with people who aren't afraid to be as true to themselves as possible.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said “What lies before us and what lies behind us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” No matter what despite everything that happens you’re still you, nothing can change that. Sometimes people fall on hard times or face challenges that overcome them. Despite this though we always have the ability to change and create ourselves to be whoever we want to be despite the outside world. We really don't know anything unless we know ourselves and what we are truly capable of.
