It is common for kids to dislike going to school while growing up. But I bet everyone that went to school had at least one favorite teacher. You probably told people, that teacher had a unique way of making their class fun, and that made you want to go to school.

I like it when teachers have a good sense of humor, to keep their students entertained, and that will make them stay awake during their lesson. Also, it is nice when teachers want to see their students succeed in their class, and will help their students if they are putting in the effort.

There were subjects I did not like to learn because I thought they were difficult throughout elementary school to high school. But there were teachers I had that made learning those subjects fun. There was a time that I was afraid to ask for help if I did not know how to answer questions for an assignment. I learned that there is nothing wrong with asking your teachers for help on how to complete an assignment correctly. That is what they are getting paid for.

I learned by going to school that respect must be earned from people. It was interesting for me while going to school to hear students complain if they were not getting treated with respect by a teacher. But they were disrespectful to that teacher. At the same time, if a student is treating a teacher with respect, paying attention in class, and putting in the effort to complete the assignments, the teacher should not be disrespectful to that student.

I will admit, I do miss the teachers I had throughout school. I hope everything going is well with them. I am sure that they miss having me as a student, and hopefully we will see each other again soon.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
