Everyone talks of this great love they have with a boy who loves them more than anything. They talk of how their significant other is also their best friend and that they have the most amazing relationship filled with trust and commitment. They have been dating for how ever many months or maybe they have made it past their one-year mark. I mean that totally means you guys will stay together forever, it sounds like you are so in love!! They talk about how beautiful their boyfriends think they are and the long text messages they receive when they wake up in the mornings. The constant affection shown to them and the endless love they feel. While hearing girls talk about that, there is one thing I constantly find myself thinking… the love I have is greater than the love any girl will ever feel in their relationship with a boy…

Now I’m not bashing those people who are in relationships, good for them, in fact. I used to be one of those people who thought I needed to be talking to someone of the opposite sex, I felt like I needed attention from a boy. All of my friends had boyfriends or boys they were talking to so naturally I needed to have one too. I have been one of those people who was absolutely consumed in a relationship or with a significant other. I have been one of those cliché teenage girls who talks about the love they felt or the beauties of having a significant other. As dark as it sounds, relationships will always end in some type of hurt or disappointment in my opinion. There is no forever when it comes to falling in love, I have been there and I have loved deeply but never found a deep love in return until now…

I have found someone who has qualities greater than those that all the girls praise their boyfriends for, someone who made me believe that love can be forever and not all relationships end in heartbreak. I am 100% consumed once again, I am falling madly and passionately in love… but this time it’s with God.

My relationship with God is greater than any relationship I could ever have with another person. You see, we don’t have any commitment issues. He is so forgiving, and he always is there to comfort me. He is loyal, and he helps me become a better person. He is literally always welcoming me with open arms. I can talk to him as a best friend, I can talk to him any time of the day, and I don’t have to worry about his phone being off or being unable to reach him. He has given up so much for me; I am never worried that he does not love me. And I know our love is forever, and he will never leave me.

While you may receive your beloved long text messages that are now the modern version of love letters that reassure you of the love you have with someone else - I have a whole book written for me. Not an intangible text message that at the end of the day can be deleted and there is no proof it was even written. A whole book I tell you, if that’s not dedication what is? I have 1,281 pages of pure love and dedication written for me.

His book contains things greater than any long message could ever contain.

He tells me how I loved I am - The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness." (Jeremiah 31:3)

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10)

He tells me how great our love is -“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lords holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Romans 10:9

He says he will take care of me, and provide for me.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

He knows exactly what to say when I’m stressed, afraid, anxious or overwhelmed.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)

(Isaiah 41:10)

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.

Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you.

I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God, and the peace of god which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and your mind in Jesus Christ," (Philippians 6-7)

God loves us all through the commitment he shows to us constantly; everyone can have that kind of love. Relationships with people are rich but a relationship with god is richer than you could ever imagine.

I have found my worth in God, not a boy.

God completes me, not a boy.

God loves me more than any boy will ever be able too.

God loves me more than I will ever love myself.

I am falling madly and passionately in love with God.
