I'm A Christian And Voted For Hillary Clinton

There is a high possibility I'm going to get a lot of bad responses for this so just hear me out. This isn't an article bashing Trump or why I'm supporting Hillary but as to where my Christian beliefs align with our nominees and now President Trump. Now, this isn't an article generalizing all Christians, and certainly not an article generalizing anyone who is a Christian that voted for Hillary. This is simply my opinion and you may choose to disagree or agree as much as you'd like, as long as we can have a discussion about it in a loving manner.

Let's begin with Hillary Clinton and why I voted for her. To get straight to the point we need a president that loves. Someone who loves their neighbor. "Love your neighbor as yourself" is literally the most important commandment Jesus gives us along with loving Jesus. I'm all for equal rights. Equal rights for women, equal rights for LGBT, equal rights for Muslims and anyone of any religion and so on. Why? Because I love those people. I want those people to feel just as safe as my fellow straight white American friend. We are called to love one another, so why is it so difficult for Christians to understand that? It is okay to disagree with these people, it is okay or people to disagree with what they believe in, but to believe in someone who would rather take their liberties away in America, a country founded off of immigrants and trying to achieve the American dream, something we hold with such high value, is absurd. I follow the Jesus and translate the Bible, not interpret, but translate the bible into my life, the exact way it was written. I know what the bible has to say about certain issues and I don't disregard those, but, that doesn't mean I should be hateful either.

Donald Trump. What a guy. I am not a Republican, let's just get that out of the way. I'm also not a Democrat either. I'm as moderate as moderate can be. Literally right in the middle. And I'm sure a lot of people are also in the same boat, especially my college friends. We have been caught in the middle of this time of change where we are forced to figure out for ourselves where our beliefs are held. With Donald Trump, he brings the sense of that he just hates anyone who is not like him and doesn't care for anyone else. No matter what you believe with Hillary and her emails, or that she should go to prison, Trump is rude, fact. If you truly believe that we as Christians would lose our rights if Hillary became President, then you are wrong. We live in one of the only countries in the world where there is religious freedom. This country was founded on Christian rights and will continue to thrive on Christian beliefs whether you want to believe that or not. Christians aren't going anywhere, so stop trying to play the victim and look at literally any other religion in the US and tell me if they have the same privilege as we do.

I'm going to be completely honest, I'm not happy with the fact the Trump is President, I'm actually really mad. I know God has a plan and saw this coming, but doesn't mean I have to be happy with this. I'm going to end it with this, Trump is our President and if he thinks for a second that all of this change that happened within the last 8 years for people of minorities in any sense is going to go away, then think again. I will not stand for my brothers and sisters to feel as though they have been defeated. I am here on this Earth right now to love my neighbor because they are WORTH loving.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
