If you think I leave you for another
you are quite misled.
I'm sure that thoughts of other men
are whirling through your head.
I wouldn't leave one for another,
for lust or luring grip,
for hands that hold me through the night,
but away in morning slip.
I do not mean to say
that others won't be in the mix.
They may come if they desire,
but my heart they will not fix.
I do not leave you for another.
I leave to be alone,
for seclusion is my dearest friend
and solitude, my home.
