If you give a girl a year- she will travel. She will travel near and far. She will love it very much and cherish it for a lifetime. Whether it be by RV, car, plane, or train she will make it to her destination.

If you let a girl travel- she’ll want to take lots of pictures. She will take pictures of the beautiful city skyline, she will awake before the sun to capture it rising above the deep blue ocean. She will take pictures of her loved ones to remember these special days.

If you give a girl a year-she’ll go to a lot of concerts. She will go to mostly country but also alternative and rock shows as well. She will sing her heart out with her closest friends and make memories to last a lifetime.

And, if you let a girl go to a concert- her boyfriend might propose. When he gets down on one knee and asks her to spend the rest of her life with him she will say YES! Her hands will tremble with nerves and excitement as he puts the ring on her finger.

If you give a girl a year- she’ll get stressed out a lot. She will get stressed about a lot of things. Small things, big things, things that don’t matter. She will get angry and sad about these things, but her loved ones will always have her back.

When a girl gets stressed out- she’ll want to find a solution to her problems. She’ll talk to everyone she knows and ask for advice. She’ll cry in the shower and feel like punching a wall sometimes. She'll take it out on you, even though she doesn’t mean to. She’ll get frustrated and want to give up, but won’t ever quit. She’ll rise above and fight for what she wants.

When you give a girl a year- she'll make mistakes. She'll make mistakes and think its the worst thing in the world. She will be upset and maybe even angry at herself.

When she makes a mistakes- she'll learn from them. Although it might be hard for her at first to learn from her mistakes, she eventually will. She will grow from them and they will change her and shape her into a better person.

If you give a girl a year- she’ll change. She will change in big ways and small ways. She might become more fit, get a tattoo, or change her hair. She might change her personality and outlook on life.

When a girl changes- it’ll be for the better. She’ll be happier and healthier. She’ll smile more. She’ll realize what is important in her life and have an idea of where she is headed. She will be confident.

If you give a girl a year- she will find herself in new ways. She will explore new cities and towns. She will laugh a lot. She will cry. She will experience. She will realize there are good days and bad days. She will learn to not take life so seriously all the time. She will find new ways to be happy. She will find new favorite places, foods, and music. She will learn to see the good in every situation.

If you give a girl a year- she might just do it all over again.

Cheers to 2018!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
