If My Favorite Stores Were Different Types Of Guys

For those of you who do not know me, few things rival my love and give me as much joy as fashion. So in the spirit of celebrating my passion for clothes I decided to compare some of my favorite stores to different types of guys we’ve all encountered at some point in our lives( because even though a boy might disappoint you, a good outfit, definitely won't).

1. Nordstrom: The Ideal Guy

He’s classy, well put together, and the epitome of successfully adulting. He’s the type of guy who’s always ready to lend a helping hand with whatever you need, Shout out to the beyond helpful staff at Nordstrom who have built my wardrobe from the ground up. Just like those cashmere sweaters and day dresses your mother loves him and probably knows his family too. This is the guy that when you are with him he makes you feel like you can do anything, like go out and concur the world. Just like the feeling you get when you find that outfit that makes you feel like you are an off the run way fashion forward bad a** bi**h, well maybe not as good as that feeling, but you know you where I’m going with this. After a life of dating (shopping) around with other guys (stores), some much more questionable than others, this is guy we all deserve to find.

2. American Eagle: All American Guy

Now, I know this one is kind of cliché and obvious but bear with me. This is the guy in high school who everyone knew and fit in with any group (just like those sent from heaven A&E jeans that come in tall, regular, and my personal favorite, short). He probably played baseball or football and even though he was popular he was still surprisingly laid back. After graduation, he probably joined a frat and even though he was not as well-known (because let’s be honest besides the jeans our loyalty for this store has wavered a little since high school) he’s still a guy everyone can relate to and have a good time with.

3. Tobi (and other online stores): The Allusive, Unreliable Guy

This is the guy no one can quite figure out. He’s allusive and a little untouchable which makes him so desirable. At first look this mystery and the thought of the unknown potential makes him irresistible (aka the pages and pages of cute clothes pictured on the websites). The problem is though that when the time comes you can’t count on this guy. You never know what you are going to get with him (Tobi I’m talking to you and your all over the place sizing… like seriously who the F*** is coming up with these sizes). He can often come up short on his promises to you, so be ready for disappointment. Much like the soul-crushing disappointment that can come only from opening a package of clothes you’ve been waiting for only to find the fabric is a cheap AF or it does not fit you like it did the size small model in the picture. At his worst, he might even ghost you all together (Oh that’s funny the website says my package was delivered... to where Estonia because it’s definitely not at my door step). Much like a majority of these websites, there is only so many times we can forgive being let down. In the end the thrill of the unknown turns into the headache of inconvenience, and it is with a heavy heart that we must cut our ties and say goodbye (and by that I mean to get sucked back in anyway, at the first email of a site-wide sale, ready to take the gamble that hopefully, things have changed).

4. Forever 21: The Guy Who Can’t Get It Together

Just like the clothes in this store, he’s low maintenance, down for most occasions and has mass appeal. He’s the guy who knows how to have time without spending a ton of cash, so he’s the perfect choice for when you are in college and rocking with a budget. Unfortunately, this guy just can’t get his, who know what, together and frankly, he’s a hot mess. This dude is the peak of un-organized, so much so, that it can sometimes overwhelm you (literally forever 21 sometimes your stores are so unorganized and overwhelming it literally makes me nauseous walking in there). If you were to go into his room it would most likely be a whirl-wind of clothes on the floor and papers everywhere. Lucky for this guy, and this store, we all this love him despite the mess. Maybe it’s because you’ve known him for a long time( when you first starting shopping here in like 9th grade and felt so trendy), or because you know you can always rely on him to help you out in a pinch (because no matter what the occasion we can always rely on this store to have at least something that fits and will work). Either way this guy will always hold a place in our hearts be a part of our lives for the foreseeable future.

5. Urban Outfitters: The Hipster

This is your textbook hipster dude. He strives to avoid being basic while still being fashion forward. He can sometimes be a little pretentious (OU I’m looking at you and those prices) but we stick around because he’s super cute, and being with him makes us feel stylish as heck (in an ironic way, of course).

6. PAC SUN: Surfer Guy

These guys were made to be outdoors and on the beach. He’s the perfect guy to call if you want to catch some waves or hit up an outdoor music festival, but still be in style. He’s the perfect mix of the effortlessness and style, aka the fact that this store has unlimited jean short and crop tops but is also carries Kendall and Kylie’s line. So don’t be surprised when you catch him hopping off the board and into a party while somehow still looking good.

*BONUS STORE* Hot Topic: The Bad Boy

Now even though I do not shop here, I still had to include this store, because let’s be honest, it is kind of iconic. Hot topic is the classic bad boy. Whether you were bad to the bone yourself at some point, like maybe wore fairy wings in a serious way, or just toed the line of being totally hard core, one time I did buy purple eyeliner here I’ll admit, or maybe just did it to piss of your parents, we have all been guilty of messing around with this guy at one point or another in our lives.

StableDiffusion

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
