When the world found out that Jay-Z had cheated on Queen Bey, it practically tilted off its axis.
In all serious though, if Jay-Z cheated on Beyoncé, as girls we’ve all got no chance

Wait...what's all these "Jay-Z is so wonderful" tweets? Dude cheated on Beyonce.

How does anyone cheat on Beyonce?
So Jay-Z says it takes a real man to cry and then stay?? A real man wouldn't cheat in the first place 🙄

Beyoncé has essentially become an idol to women everywhere for beauty, feminism, and talent. The fact that such a dirty act could be done to someone who sits as high in hierarchy as a queen in the public's eye is core-shaking.
Between listening to "Lemonade" and then "4:44" by Beyoncé and Jay-Z respectively, it's become apparent that the cheating wasn't just some big rumor like we had all hoped it was when it came around. I, for one, hated the man that could do such a thing to a woman I practically idolized. I was always confused and honestly angry that Beyoncé had chosen to forgive rather than leave. As if I had the right.
I think a big problem with celebrities is that the people who make up the general public always feel entitled to information about their lives and act as if their actions affect us. As if they need to consult with us before making statements or decisions about their lives. As if they even know we exist.
The problem with the limelight is that everything underneath it can't hide from a shadow, and neither could Jay-Z's infidelity. We cast this limelight onto others' lives as if it is our place to do so. The world was outraged at the fact that Beyoncé would "allow" herself to be treated this way and "excuse" his actions. However, we fail to realize it isn't our marriage.
Then, "EVERYTHING IS LOVE" dropped—a joint album between the husband and wife who are currently touring together as well. The surprise album release was a big statement about the state of their marriage, just like the announcement of the tour. It shows that through therapy and trust and love, their relationship has grown and strengthened.
So it's time for us to back the hell off.
We need to stop hating Jay-Z. Though he cheated and that was inexcusable, he has seemingly worked his ass off to get back into good graces with the only people who matter. Which is not us.
We need to respect Beyoncé's decision to let him back in. We have no idea what their relationship was like and currently is. We're just fans. We aren't people who deserve to have a say in the personal life of any individuals, let alone the Carters'. It doesn't make her any less of a strong, fierce, feminist woman.
We need to embrace the true beauty that this album is. With yet another Blue Ivy cameo and the power of Beyoncé's rap career, "EVERYTHING IS LOVE" took the charts by storm, and caused millions, especially myself, to yet again find a loophole for the Tidal free trial to drown in it. I mean, for God's sake, they rented out THE LOUVRE.
Quit holding grudges that you don't have any right to hold, just embrace good music and watch your idols live their best lives.
