6 Unique Ways To Ask That Special Someone To Prom
Josh Felise

Well, girls and boys, it's that time of year again...Prom. Have you thought about who you're going to ask? And even more than that have you thought about HOW you're going to ask that special person to this highly anticipated event? I know you've probably seen those Facebook videos of people going all out and making these grand gestures to embarrass the girl and make sure that she can't say no. But honestly, these prom-posals actually look a lot like wedding proposals.

Don't get worked up about trying to make it super romantic. Focus on making it fun!

1. Make a play using movie titles.

"Would you be UP to going to prom with me?" Really you can make a prom-posal out of any quote from their favorite movie. It just takes some extra creativity. But don't let that scare you away.

2. Bring in an accomplice.

Make use of the Principal, their best friends. Heck, even their parents can be great partners in crime. Plus, this is a great time to get on the parental's good side.

3. Use man's best friend.

Dog, fish, cat, horse; the list goes on and really can make their hearts melt for you. Even just a little bit. But make sure it's THEIR furry best friend. Not your pet snake. That might not make for the best opening prom-posal. But it could definitely be one they will NEVER forget.

4. Costumes are always fun right?

But let's try and keep it somewhat modest ok?

5. Make it a date night!

Taking them out for a light comedy movie and pizza afterward might be the best way to charm them into accepting your epic and sweet prom-posal. Now how to get them to actually go on a date with you in the first place is another story completely. You're on your own with that one buddy. But good luck to you!

6. Everyone loves food right?!

Speaking of pizza, why not plan it out with your cashier to arrange pepperoni into "Prom?" Or make arrangements with cookies. Or even better buy a box of donuts and write on the box your super catchy prom-posal. But make note if your possible date is allergic to gluten or on some diet. Buying them foods that they can't enjoy kind of kills the mood.

A huge thing to know in asking someone to prom, it doesn't always mean the boy asks the girl. And while that's what's traditional...Today there's no time for traditional. There's only time for taking risks and living your life. The ideas listed are just that, IDEAS.

I never said that these are the sure way to get someone to say yes. These are ideas that hopefully will assist you in asking someone to this annual event. Also, I hope it will give you hope and bravery to just go for it.

And for those who don't get asked to prom. GO SINGLE! Get together with friends and dance the night away. Take it from someone who has gone to two proms single, it's totally worth it!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
