12 Reasons Why I Am Thankful For My Mom

Moms are a gift from God. When a situation feels grim, I know I can count on my Mom to light the way. We laugh together, sing together, cry together, and even fight together...and I wouldn't have it any other way. Here's to our moms!

Mommy dearest, I want to thank you for all that you've done for me. Here are 12 things I want you to know I'm thankful for...

1. You've made me the woman I am today and shaped my mind to know that I can conquer whatever crosses my path.

2. You are my rock in a completely unstable stage of my life.

3. You're the one person who understands me best.

4. When I've had a busy day, I'm never too tired to sit and talk with you for hours on end.

5. You mean so much to me and when you're away, it makes my heart sad.

6. You're always on my side, even when I'm far from right. I want to thank you for being my greatest cheerleader.

7. I love that I can confide in you and expect nothing short of the best advice.

8. I want to thank you for all of the times you had to listen to me nag about school, friend problems, boy problems, and everything in-between, and didn't leave me without any solution.

9. I want to thank you for your positivity and high hopes. The world is at my fingertips when I talk to you.

10. You make me feel like I can do anything and be anything.

11. You are the truest friend I have ever had, and are always looking out for my best interests.

12. I want to thank you for always taking care of me and making sure I have everything I need in order to succeed.

13. I love you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
