How To Never Fall Out Of Love With Life
Vivian Wong

That's right, I fell in love. I fell in love with every nitty gritty detail of the idea of loving life.

There's really no formula to follow, it just kind of happens like any other type of love does. But... I'll tell you a little about my love story with life.

It all started when I came to the clear realization that life isn't meant to be dwelled upon, it's meant to be lived. I'm sure you have had that hour, day, or even week where you've sat there over-thinking, contemplating and letting your sense of presence go while you're so wrapped up in your thoughts. I know I have, one too many time. So, what I decided to do was have a little talk with myself. I told myself, "Hey, you. Stop being so dramatic, let it go." When I started to let that happen I realized that the little things I used to stay angry about for hours are things that could've easily been forgotten.

Instead of beating yourself up, go take up a yoga class, read a book or an article that catches your eye, take a walk and take in all the beautiful things around you. In the process of falling in love with life, there is no time for over-thinking.

However, the reality is that those things called emotions do exist and they're not always too friendly. Our happiness and sanity sometimes drifts away and gets lost somewhere else, opening a gateway to the not so fun emotions.

The key to overcoming these bumps in the road is having control. When you start to gain control over anger, sadness, patience, heartbreak and worry you're going to start to build a better relationship with life and be rewarded for that. You'll be rewarded with happiness, love, bliss and everything else that life really does want to give you. After all, you have control of your own life so go out there and live it!

Falling in love with loving life really is a beautiful thing. You start to appreciate the little things the Earth gives you to enjoy. Like the feeling of walking barefoot across fresh cut grass, or the ability to breathe in open air and watch rainfall. Things that meant nothing before will soon become a part of enjoying every bit of life. Once you start to love yourself and the life you're living it'll rub off on others. Let's be real, we all know someone who is always angry or in a bad mood, and no one wants to be around that kind of negativity. Their issue is that they aren't giving life the equal effort of loving it the right way. But when you love life and everything it has to offer you soon will become free-willed, free-minded and a free-body.

Now, I challenge you. Have a talk with yourself. Tell yourself to smarten up and let go. Let go of all the negativity and unhealthy habits you may have. Look at the glass half full and take every opportunity you can. Take control and start to notice the beautiful things you've been missing all along.

I dare you to fall in love with life and never stop. After all, that's what this world is all about; living everyday to the fullest.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
