How To Get The Most Out Of Pinterest

Pinterest is a girl’s best friend. You might be thinking all there is to this app is DIY crafts, you are wrong. The lifestyle app is a secrete weapon for making every part of your life seem perfect. Pinterest is a site made for sharing hacks and tips about improving your lifestyle from people who seem like they have their stuff together.

You can search literally any topic that you feel you need help or inspiration in, say hair styles or organization hacks; and Pinterest will give you hundreds of results. Then you can create a collection of pins that you admire, called boards. I have a dream wedding and a house goals board, just to name a few. Pinterest is amazing and can really help you in every aspect of life no matter your age or stage of life.

Here are some of my favorite things to get inspired by on Pinterest.

Style

Searching for trends on Pinterest makes me so happy. From hair to nails to clothes, this app opens your eyes to anything and everything fashion. Fashion bloggers share so many tips and they are really easy to recreate. Pinterest can help you find outfits when it comes to job interviews and even weddings. There’s so many hair styles to try out from braids to buns. Pinterest is a life saver and your friends will be jealous of how good you look.

Fitness

Work out pins will actually make you inspired to exercise. Not only can you search what the fitness experts are wearing, but they reveal their tips on the app and give you major fitspiration. There are so many different workout plans for anything that you want to do, from cardio to yoga. Pinterest makes it really easy to want to put on sneakers and exercise, even if it’s just some squats in your house.

Food

It is shocking how many recipes you can make using avocado. Seriously, the recipes on Pinterest look ridiculously delicious, and if you try them you’ll find out they aren't that hard to make. You can find inspiration for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, and drinks on this app. Also, it could teach you how to eat healthier and give you insight about popular trends like vegan, gluten free, or paleo diets.

Home decor

I like to look at the home trends on Pinterest and imagine what my dream house would look like. There are amazing mansions to look at, and beautiful kitchens and bathrooms. But until then, you can pin your favorite storage and organization tricks that you would never have thought of on your own. Also Pinterest is the destination for inspiration if you want to redecorate your room because there’s millions of pins that you can recreate and make Urban Outfitters inspired DIYs for your room.

Inspiration

Aside from the topics I just mentioned, there are so many other things to discover on the app that you probably never even considered important. Some of these things can change your life. I started doing things I heard about on Pinterest like drinking more water, meditating, and reading because of some blog posts I had read on the app. I didn't know what I was missing and thanks to Pinterest, I have incorporated so many healthy and fun things into my life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
