Who loves Halloween?! This chick right here! It's the best holiday not only because you get to dress up, but because you get to eat candy! So much candy. It's like getting your Golden Ticket once a year, but instead of being taught life lessons or dealing with some crazy old guy, you just get to eat all the candy you want! Amazing.
But then November 1st rolls around, and we're left to deal with the aftermath of the five pounds of candy we ate the night before. As we shamefully turn our heads from the trashcan filled with candy wrappers, our tongues in our teeth fishing out that nut from a Snickers bar, we get ready to face the day. Here's some tips to make your November 1st as productive and less vomit filled as possible.
1. Don't reach your hand back into that bag of candy
If you've managed to have candy left after your Halloween binge fest, it's best not to continue that into the next day. Or, if you must, moderate and portion what you have left. Chances are you are in a bit of a sugar coma and the more candy you put into your system the worse you and your headache will get.
2. Take your makeup off before you go to bed.
I've managed to wake up to some interesting finds in my bed the morning after Halloween. Glitter everywhere, part of my costume halfway on, and lipstick smeared on my wall. Yeah, that's happened before. I would like to know how, too. If you go all out you might just comb your false eyelashes out of your hair during your shower. Speaking of which...
3. Take a shower
Please. I promise you will feel so much better. Wash that candy coma right out of your pores.
4. The ever cliche, yet super helpful one: drink lots of water
I usually turn to Gatorade when feeling like I'm going to vomit, but considering the amount of sugar already consumed through candy, water is definitely the answer.
5. Make sure all your homework is done before you begin your binge fest
You know whats worse than throwing up at 3am because you've eaten too much candy? Throwing up and then realizing you had a paper that was due at midnight along with a quiz at 8am.
6. Go through last night's selfies while contemplating why you ate all that candy to begin with
I bet you looked amazing last night, and your friends did too. Now is the time to remind yourself why you do this every year in the first place. It almost makes that aching headache and your whole bag of Twix bars worth it.
You can get through the Halloween Hangover, I promise. You'll settle right into that November melancholy until Thanksgiving, and then we'll have something to truly be excited about, CHRISTMAS!
