Bullying: Good and Bad

When you think of your hometown, what do you think of? Do you think of it as a safe place or a never ending pit of drama? For me my hometown was a never ending pit of drama. It all started back during my junior high years at Friendswood Junior High School. When I first started junior high, I was just another one of your average ordinary students looking to meet new people and make some new friends. But that is not what I ended up getting at all.

Instead of meeting new people who wanted to be my friends, I met people who wanted to bully me and make my life a pit of negativity. All of the negative comments that were tossed at me like baseballs made it very hard on me to be able to focus on any of my school work which then started to get me to fall behind in school which made each and every year even harder than it already was. The bullying got so bad that I could not handle it on my own so I turned to the principals on campus thinking that they are capable of fixing the situation but once again I was wrong. Instead of the principals doing what they are supposed to do and help me resolve the issue, they told me to suck it up and or that I bring the bullying upon myself. That made me feel like there was no one that could help me when I need the help. I felt like I was never going to end the bullying case that was against me.

I thought no one would ever be on my side. That changed when I met some very special people in my life who are the reason I made it out of the bullying. Mark Griffon, the principal at Friendswood High School, Jim Owen who was like a 2nd father to me, Coach Truman, and the rest of the pass teachers are the reason I made it out of the bullying. Mark Griffon was one of the best principal I have ever had. I remember when my dad dropped me off at 5:30am and Griffon let me into his office and let me sleep on the couch until school started. He also was there for me when I needed lunch by giving me food. I will never forget that. Jim Owen who was like my second father was always there for me no matter what. I remember that we always ate lunch together and talked sports, and grades and anything else. Without any of them helping me out I dont think I would have made it out. And to the rest of the PASS instructors, they gave me a safe heaven when I had no where else to go to. They were always there to make my life a little easier and for that I will never forget them. ANOTHER PERSON THAT I GREATLY APPRECIATE IS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST GUYS I KNOW AND HIS NAME IS COACH TRUMAN. I REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES HE SHARED WITH ME AND EVERYONE ELSE, I REMEMBER THE OPEN DOORS AND OPEN ARMS HE EXTENDED TO ME WHEN I WAS HURTING AND MOST RECENTLY I REMEMBER AND AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO THE TIME HE OPENED UP YELL PRACTICE WITH ME GIVING A SPEECH. IS EVERYONE HAS ISSUES WITH SOMEONE IN THEIR LIFE BUT ONCE IT ALL MAKES SENSE IT WILL WORK OUT FOR THE BEST.

The bullying went on and on to get much worse than it was the year before to the point that I felt like I wanted to commit suicide. So each day went on to be so miserable that I went home each and every night crying because I had no one to support me and no one I could trust with the things that were going on. You would think that once school got out and you got home that it would be over but for me it just got worse at home. At home the bullying turned from verbal to physical bullying. Each night I had people from my school follow me home just to do bully me. Once I got home they left until late that night. When they returned they started damaging my car that was parked in my parents driveway to the point where I ended up having to stay up to catch the guys since without proof nothing could be done. Anyway I could continue to tell the part where it happened through high school and how I got detention and asc for reporting bullying but that will take a long time. I could also tell the part of how even when I graduated high school and moved out of city for college to get a fresh start that the bullying followed !e but again that takes time. I will just say what needs to be said.

Bullying is a worldwide issue that needs to be dealt with. Just because your school or your work says it's a no bullying zone does not mean it really is. Don't just take their word on it. If standing up for yourself is only getting you in trouble like it did for me, don't give up. Keep pushing for what is right. Bullying can not be stop by one person. It can only be stopped if we all team together and stand up for what's right all together.

ANYWAY THE ENTIRE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE IS THAT YES BULLYING IS BAD, YES BULLYING IS A NATIONWIDE ISSUE, BUT IF YOU MEET THE RIGHT PEOPLE, YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOMEONE TO GET YOU OUT OF THE ISSUES AND TO HELP YOU WITH WHATEVER YOU NEED. THE POINT IS DO NOT LET OTHERS GET YOU DOWN, ALWAYS FIND THE RIGHT PEOPLE THAT WAY YOUR LIFE IS NOT AN NEVER ENDING PIT OF DRAMA.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
