How To Commit The Perfect Crime
Wichita Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers

Our generationloves crime shows. "NCIS", "CSI", "Forensic Files", "How To Get Away With Murder", "Making A Murderer" fascinate us. These shows have taught us a lot. Here are15 steps in order to commit the perfect crime:

1.) Have a plan.

Get in and get out as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

2.) Always wear gloves OR don't touch anything.

You'll leave fingerprints and DNA.

3.) Don't leave a paper trail.

The police will follow the money.

4.) Destroy all evidence.

Get rid of all of it.

5.) Make sure to do a sweep right before you leave to make sure that you didn't leave anything behind.

Make sure that there isn't anything left behind that can place you at the scene.

6.) Don't talk to the police without a lawyer.

Know your Miranda Rights.

7.) Beware of security cameras.

These cameras will place you somewhere and track your movements.

8.) Be random with your target.

The police will be able to link you more easily if you know your target(s).

9.) Don't be distinct.

Be as average looking as possible.

10.) Wear shoes that aren't your actual size.

Forensic science can calculate your height and weight based off of your shoes

11.) Destroy the clothes that you were wearing during your perfect crime.

Fibers and DNA can stay on clothing and it can be seen on cameras that can be used to identify you.

12.) Don't be an idiot.

Think.

13.) Don't use your car unless completely necessary.

Cars are so identifiable.

14.) Always have an alibi.

Put yourself somewhere else.

15.) Lastly and most importantly, don't commit crimes!

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
