There's a lot of "change" everyone promises to make in the new year. A lot of times, we tend to make changes - only temporarily - to be more productive. So, listen to me and follow 25 simple steps to ensure that you stay productive in the new year.

1. Limit social media time

Social media can be toxic sometimes - just take a break.

2. Do some good for the world

Give back to the community that has given to you.

3. Explore nature and allow yourself to relax

Nature walks, mountain hikes, or even just a walk down the street.

4. Exercise!!!! Yoga!!! Meditation!!!

JUST BREATHE.

5. Use a planner

Don't fight it, just go with it.

6. And sticky notes

They really make great page markers.

7. Make a to-do list

And cross everything off as you go.

8. Get started with your to-do list early in the morning

You can do it!

9. Reward yourself a little for being productive

TREAT YO SELF, girl!

10. Eat a healthier diet. It'll make you feel better...and look better!

Just try not to go through a drive-through for every meal, ok?

11. Read a book, the news, or even listen to podcasts

Books are good for the soul.

12. Have a clean work/school space

It's so much easier to work when everything is clean!

13. Let go of the negative aspects of your life

Be positive, and cut everyone out that isn't.

14. Start routines and follow through with them

It'll be hard at first, but you'll catch on!

15. Listen to classical music while working/studying/cleaning

It's soothing - and has no words to belt out and distract you.

16. Make your goals specific and realistic

Don't under or overestimate yourself.

17. Be able to say no sometimes

NO. NO. NOOOO!

18. Track your progress

Know how you are doing, so you can know how far you have to go.

19. Make a playlist of your favorite music to crank out work

Music makes EVERYTHING better.

20. Do not be too hard on yourself!!!

You are only human, you can do this.

21. Enjoy what you are doing

Love what you do, do what you love.

22. Do not get in the way of yourself

FOCUS ON YOU.

23. Look at the world differently

Get another point of view.

24. Identify what consumes most of your time & adjust it when necessary

Basically, don't spend 20 hours a week binging "Grey's Anatomy".

25. Be consistent

Hold yourself accountable!

Follow these simple steps, and you're sure to succeed!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
