Super Bowl 52 And The Minneapolis Miracle Made Me A Football Fan

I watched one of the most interesting games and here I am writing about it!

I am studying at University of Minnesota, which is located between the Twin Cities, near the location for Super Bowl 52. The craze of hosting the Super Bowl in your residing city is enough to make you hear about football quite frequently from your surrounding colleagues. Initially, when I came here, I saw a man with blonde hair and horns. At the time, I didn't know what it meant. Then, I got to know that symbol as the logo for the Minnesota Vikings.

Then, as the NFL games proceeded, I was informed the Vikings were doing pretty well within the league, and may even have the possibility of playing in the Super Bowl. I was somewhat excited, as it feels incredible when the team of the state you're living in plays well. Then, one of my friends invited me over to watch the game between the Vikings and the Saints. It was the first game I watched, and based on the reactions from friends and media, it was probably the most exciting game I'd ever witness.

It was throughout this game in which I learned the rules of football. Another friend of mine tried to explain the rules to me, but I understood nothing. However, by the time the game ended, I finally knew what was going on and what the players were trying to do on the field.

During the Vikings vs. Saints game, the first half seemed promising for the Vikings to secure the win over New Orleans. We were all so happy and excited. However, I was unaware what uncertainty the second half of the game would bring. All of my hopes sank during the second half. The score narrowed from 17-7 by the end of the second quarter to 23-24 in the remaining five minutes.

Then, the 'Minneapolis Miracle' happened in the last 30 seconds -- Keenum and Diggs. They happened. With ten second remaining in the game, no timeouts for the Vikings, Keenum threw a pass to Diggs who crossed the end zone right as the clock ran down to zero. The Vikings secured their win against the Saints with 29-24 as the final score. We won in the last seconds of the game. That was one of the happiest moment I experienced in a long time. We went from super sad to super happy within the period of one play -- and the Vikings became one step closer to the Super Bowl.

For the next game, Vikings vs Eagles, we again went over to my friend's house to watch the game, but unfortunately, Vikings lost to the Eagles and destroyed their chances of playing in the Super Bowl. I don't want to admit it, but the Eagles did play pretty well.

Maybe Vikings will have a better chance next year for the Super Bowl. We'll just have to wait until next season.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
