This holiday season it's so hard to get wrapped up in having a significant other, you scroll through your Instagram and Facebook this time of year and all you see is coupley posts. This posts may include couples you know that are dating, engaged, and even married. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to be in a relationship if you currently are in one, but I'm also saying that it's okay to be without one.
The holidays mean movies, presents, and maybe some parties. Movies that are in theatres are usually themed and have an element that involves couples. But does that mean you have to have a Significant Other to watch it? No, but it would be a nice bonus to have. Same with Netflix and Hallmark movies, it would be a nice to have somebody to cuddle with as we would be watching a holiday rom-com.
Presents? Why yes, if you are in a relationship you would have to get your boyfriend or girlfriend a thoughtful gift. While that does seem like an adventure and closest to the sweetest thing ever, your bank account would be just fine without it if you weren't in love. So you could actually buy yourself more presents, which your account would be somewhat okay with (I mean treat yourself all day if you want). My point is, is that its okay to spend time online shopping with yourself or even your other friends that are single, #singlealltheway am I right?
Lastly parties, I know holiday parties do exist in 2018. They usually include ugly sweaters, booze, white elephant gifts, and much more. So by you being single, it just makes it all the more fun because you can just show up and not worry about if your significant other forgot to wear their ugly sweater or even worse forgot booze/gifts for the party (okay all of this may not happen but it might). Anywho, you can just kick your feet up and drink your wine girl, there will be somebody for you later down the road but during this holiday season its okay to sip your hot chocolate alone.
