You finished fall semester. Thank the Lord. From challenging classes to different organizations you got involved in, you somehow survived and passed all your classes. The best news of all, though, it's Christmas season and winter break came quickly. You packed your dorm and headed back home in great anticipation of what the break holds.
High school reunions are all in place
This is the time you and your high school friends all talked about over the summers and the time has finally come! You get to see one another again and spend time together to catch up on everything that has happened this past semester. Disclaimer: sometimes friendships have grown apart and friendships aren't the same when you come home, and that is perfectly okay too. It happens sometimes.
Ice skating in your hometown is officially opened
The perfect date night spot for middle and high schoolers has officially opened again. Meanwhile, you have invited all of your college friends to your city to come with you and experience what it's like to skate in your local civic center.
Home cooked meals almost every night
I don't really think I need to say more on this subject especially if you're on the meal plan. No need to waste money going out anymore since you've got your parents to cook again.
You have your family around again
This is a blessing and a curse sometimes. You love your family, but you have also had an entire semester of freedom so having your parents ask you to be home at a certain time is as clear to you as a foreign language.
If you're from the south, it's warmer (Thank God)
Even if you go to college 50 miles away, living on the coast makes your Christmas break a lot warmer and allows you to do all the activities you love so much.
You get a lot more sleep
College is hard and full of late nights or all-nighters. You get to go to bed early and sleep late as many times as you want during this break.
There's no more homework or school to be concerned about
You switch classes every single semester so you get an entire month of rest without any worries of school work or due dates. Bless up.
You're home for a month my friend. Sit back, relax, pick up a good book and just enjoy your break with all your friends and family in the time you have it.
