This is it; this is graduation year! Everyone cheering, screaming, crying, and turning in those last minute applications. Don’t worry we have all been there, and we know everything is not okay.

Alright honestly it’s not that bad. The year is coming to an end and you either feel like everything is over, or that everything is starting. The truth is it’s both. The last few months of one’s senior year of high school is full of a number of emotions.

Everything as it is right now will be different. When graduation day finally arrives every senior will feel on top of the world. Don’t get me wrong, for a little bit you are on top. The world is at your fingertips. Graduation is over and summer passes, but then it’s time for college.

Don’t get so caught up in waiting to get out that you overlook what you will be missing. A couple of weeks before I moved out I started packing, and I broke down. It is okay to be scared. Just remember the people who love you will support you in everything.

I remember not seeing any of my friends after graduation, and I was scared my life would change. Well it obviously changed, but for the better. Being able to branch out, make new friends, do new things, and be a new person showed me that change is the best thing that can happen.

There isn’t loss, there is just an addition of new experiences, people, and life. Don’t fear what’s new, embrace it. There is a great big world out there full of opportunities, and change is how you gain them.

Now before it all changes, take in these last few months. I know you are eager to get out of high school. You are so close, but don’t rush it. It all changes so fast.

Everyone says high school was the best time of their life. I don’t think high school is the best time of your life, or college, or growing up, I think they are simply different times of your life. This time of your life is about to close so treasure it.

A new journey is about to begin, but make sure to end this one with a bang. Fill it with love and joy. There is so much to look forward to, but after you reach those there is so much to look back on. Make sure to look back on good times.

Tell your favorite teacher you will miss them. Make plans to see your high school friends. Keep in touch with your life in high school, but don’t keep living it. Let yourself change and grow. Make different memories, and don’t forget the old ones.

Everything is coming to an end, but it’s just starting too. Graduation is almost here. Everything is not okay, but it’s part of a perfect end to this journey and the beginning of a new one. Continue to give it your all and make the most of graduation.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
