The Best Moments Of 2016
Kayle Davis

As I look back on 2016, it's hard to believe January and December were the same year. I started 2016, and ended it, in two very different ways. The amount of change I saw this year was precious, I learned so much about the world and my self. Today I want to share the highlights of my year. Welcome to my highlight real....

January

In January, I discovered a love of one of my now favorite hobbies. I spend time and time again outside when the snow kept us out of school. I spent hours capturing beautiful photos of my sister, and the scenery. When I picked up the camera I learned that beauty is truly all around us, and taking a photo keeps the beauty from fading.

February

This moth I got to experience one of the most magical places on the planet. (Harry Potter World at Universal) It took a bit of convincing but my parents let me go on a senior trip with the other 5 seniors on my competitive dance team. On this trip I got to bond with my team mates, eat some yummy food, reluctantly ride roller coasters, and make memories.

March

Im March, I realized that visiting the local shelter was one of the best things ever. I have always had an obsession with cats. Let me tell you, the cat ward at the humane society is a trap for any crazy cat lady. I wanted to take every single one home.

April

On April 24th, i turned 18. On this beautiful day two of the best people I know took a fun little road trip to Kentucky and had a photoshoot! Time spent with these two are the sweetest of times! Every picture we took has a great little story behind it. I am thankful for them!

May

May was a big month in terms of being a senior. Two huge events mark this month for me. The first being prom where I danced the night away with my bestie, and later that night discovered my hidden talent for karaoke. The second big event was graduation. On May 30th I walked across the stage and marked the official end of my High School career.

June

This month marked the end of my time at Acro Dance Express on team, and my time as a competitive dancer. This had my last ever recital, and a few weeks later became a national champion again. In June i learned how fast time passes Even though my time was up my mind keeps the best memories I ever made doing the thing I love most.

July

Sweet sweet summer time. July was a month spend relaxing. I was getting in a good last break before I started college. This photo is of one of the adventures me and my friends took, a drive in movie.

August

This month marked the start of college. 8 am classes, lots of studying, and a new chapter in life. Not going to lie, I had a pretty sweet study buddy.

September

This was by far the best month ever! I went through sorority recruitment, and found my home in Alpha Delta Pi. Now I share a special bond with my mother and sister.

October

The weather this much was amazing. The thing I enjoyed the most was having the opportunity to sit outside, study, and enjoy the beauty that surrounded me.

November

In November I was given the chance to serve the best God in the best way. Young Life work grew was not only a hight light of 2016, but a high light in my journey to Christ.

December 31st, 2016 was the last day of a year of change. 2016 was a true test of faith but provided me with so much good. I was ready to ring in the new year.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
