Dear Best Friend

A short letter to my childhood best friend

Dear Best Friend

Dear Best Friend,

I am so happy that we have remained friends after all these years (I think its around fourteen or fifteen years). I love that we can have conversations with pictures and that we have been there for each other through everything. I love that you share the same thoughts (except for who Rory should end up with) about most everything. Harry Potter is a common conversation as well as how your kids are doing. They are so precious and I love that they like most of the same things that we do. Especially Carson and his love for Mickey Mouse. I love that you let me be a part of their lives and that we are still so close. I know that if I ever have a problem I can text you and you will talk me down from the near mental breakdown or tell me that everything will be okay. I wouldn't trade the conversations that we have for anything in the world. Even though we live so far apart, we will never be too far to be there are each other. I like that we can watch a Disney movie and sing the songs word for word and not care how the other sounds or looks. I like that we still share a bed when I come visit or you come to visit me (sorry Shane for kicking you out of your own bed.) I love the fact that you got me addicted to Chai from Starbucks, even though there is not one anywhere close to me. I also love that we always go to Chikfila when we are together. Also the amount of oreos that is consumed when we're together is unbelievable. You know pretty much everything about me and my weird quirks. I love when you recommend books for me to read and tell me if I would like something or not. I love that we can talk about anything, I also love that you asked me to be the maid of honor in your wedding. I know that I don't tell you enough but I do appreciate all that you do for me as well as all that you help me with. I love that I will always have a room in the house that we always talk about having one day. I mean really when you think about it, we have talked about a house that we can have both of our families living in for a long time. I love that you are a beach bum like me and that you wouldn't rather be anywhere else. Thank you for being my best friend and always being there for me.

Sincerely,

Your Best Friend

P.S. Rory should've ended up with Jess and not Logan!!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
