To the girl who welcomed me with open arms to the place I now call home,
Coming to college, no one ever knows what to expect. With new surroundings, new people and new experiences, things can get a little crazy. Without you, who knows where I would be. Between our daily rants, late night food trips, sappy girl nights, and spontaneous dance outbreaks, you have made my college experience so far one that I could never forget. And between midterms and all of the hustle and bustle of week five, I think it's time you get a little recognition for it.
Thank you for being willing to take spontaneous trips into the city when we are swamped with work. I wouldn't want to procrastinate with anyone else.
Thank you for letting me ugly cry and throw tissues everywhere when boys are being dumb. You didn't have to pick up my snotty tissues, but you did anyway.
Thank you for planning revenge on those stupid boys when I go on a rant. I was never serious about plotting their doom, but I know you would be standing right next to me if I was.
Thank you for gently reminding me to "fold my damn laundry" when the pile of clean clothes turns into Mt. Everest. At least, they're clean, right?
Thank you for tucking me into bed and setting a glass of water by my bedside when I've had a long night. I will be especially grateful for that in the morning.
Thank you for having long, 3 a.m. talks about our lives when we can't sleep. Even if they are just about how cute the guy down the hall's butt is.
Thank you for encouraging me to push myself through my school work. And thank you for yelling and screaming at me when we can't take schoolwork anymore.
Thank you for jumping into bed with me and watching youtube videos when I'm feeling sad. Your company is all I need to feel better.
Thank you for being that "basic white girl" when we see each other on the streets. The screams and the running toward each other are completely necessary.
Thank you for bringing me food and DayQuil to my bed when the I catch the Drexel Plague. And thank you for accepting that you'll probably catch it from me, so you don't mind snuggling my snot-nosed self.
Thank you for always having my back, even if you don't agree with my decisions. And thank you for telling me I'm being stupid when I need to hear it.
And most of all, thank you for being the stunning, inspiring young woman you are. You brighten my mood each day, and I don't know how I would make it through this stage in our lives without you.
Thank you for being you, ya' crazy cat.
With love,
Your roomie.
