You want to eat a tub of ice cream and Netflix all day don’t you? You watch your phone light up and hope that it is your past calling? You scroll through old pictures and recall how you felt while taking them? You feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel? We have all been there before. If you have experienced the typical heartbreak I am sure you would rather sit on a cactus or suffer 100 paper cuts, but I come with advice to help you in the healing process... and yes, you will heal.

1. Hit the gym, not the couch.

Elle Woods says it best “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands.” Or in this case the ex. It’s a win-win for everybody, you get your “glow-up” and your ex gets to live.

2. Buy new shoes to walk away from your past in.

Two words: retail therapy! A new outfit can all the difference. Strut your stuff, buy the bag, the jewelry and the shoes, with the perfect outfit you can never lose.

3. Hangout with your friends, they will never forsake you.

This route is cheaper than retail therapy and quite effective. With friends, comes laughter and we all know that laughter truly is the best medicine. The company of others keeps you away from your sadness.

4. Hug your mom, she loves you.

No one hates to see you hurt more than your mom. Sure, she can get annoying by repeatedly asking you how you are doing, but don’t shut her out. A mother’s love cannot be beat.

5. Listen to Taylor Swift.

Sometimes when we find ourselves deep in the hole of heartbreak, we can feel so alone and like we are the only person that has ever been heartbroken, guess what though? No one is alone. Whatever kind of tragedy you are facing in the romance department, Taylor Swift has a song for it. Listen to her and feel at peace knowing we are all in this together and it will all be okay, he was a loser anyways.

6. Sing along with Taylor Swift.

Just do it.

7. Watch the sun set.

This may seem silly, but trust me it’s not. Often, the sun sets and we don’t even think to acknowledge it, but take time out of your day and go outside or drive somewhere and just stare at the sky with no distractions. The sunset is proof that endings can be beautiful and each day is a chance to start fresh.

8.Take the picture off your night stand.

It is impossible to move forward if you are stuck in the past and staring at old pictures or hugging the teddy bear he got you every night. It is only hindering you from healing. Box that stuff up and put it away, you can do it!

9. Watch Dr. Phil and realize your problems are very small.

It’s true, heartbreak sucks, but it could be worse.

10. Eat one tub of ice cream... then start over at number one.

I would be rude if I didn’t suggest indulging in ONE tub of ice cream, but only one. There’s only one right why to indulge in the ice cream, which includes sweat pants and only the chocolate kind. But immediately after, please refer back to number one.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
