Ted Cruz is such a deplorable person that recently, former Speaker of the House John Boehner referred to him as “Lucifer in the flesh." Boehner isn't the only one that has a beef with Cruz.
Ann Coulter has said, “Cruz is a sleazy, Rovian liar."
John McCain called him “crazy."
President George W. Bush even said, “I just don’t like the guy."
Cruz’s former college roommate even said, “I would rather have anybody else be the president of the United States. Anyone. I would rather pick somebody from the phone book.”
Not only is he disliked by many of his peers, but his policy positions are extreme. Cruz believes that same-sex marriage and civil unions should be illegal. He even referred to Obergefell v. Hodges as “among the darkest hours of our nation."
Cruz is adamantly against abortion. He believes that only when a mother’s life is endangered should she be able to receive an abortion. He doesn’t believe in exceptions like rape or incest, let alone does he believe that women should have control of their reproductive system.
Cruz is so against the Affordable Care Act that in 2013, barely one year into his first term as senator, he led the charge to shut down the federal government—which costed the US economy $24 billion.
Cruz, like Trump, supports building a wall on the US/Mexican border.
Cruz advocates for abolishing the IRS, which is the federal entity that collects revenue to fund the government.
Cruz supports the death penalty.
Cruz doesn’t believe in climate change.
In summary, Ted Cruz would make a terrible president. He holds and advocates for positions that make even mainstream Republicans quiver in their boots. He would make an even worse commander-in-chief than Donald Trump would, even though Trump is a misogynist, racist failure of a businessman.
Please don’t vote for Cruz. For that matter, don't vote for Trump either. But for the love of God, please don't vote for Ted Cruz.
