The face of the $20 bill will be soon be changed from Andrew Jackson to Harriet Tubman.

Harriet Tubman, known for her leadership role in the Underground Railroad to help free slaves in the mid 1800s, will now be the face of the $20 bill by replacing Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States.

Of course the current bills we have with Jackson’s face on it will still exist in conjunction with Tubman’s. Originally, Alexander Hamilton was going to be switched with a woman’s face on the $10 bill, but later the decision was changed.

Some believe that the dollar bills should stick with presidents and politics and others think Tubman’s face is a great idea. Agreeing with Ben Carson, Donald Trump suggested Thursday on the Today show that Tubman should be on the $2 bill which is not longer printed. “Well, Andrew Jackson had a great history, and I think it’s very rough when you take somebody off the bill,” Trump said.

However, John Kasich, Trumps competition in the republican presidential race, was all for it.

“She wasn’t some big shot. She became a big shot because of what she did. She saw something that she thought did not represent justice, she saw something she thought was just patently unfair,” Kasich said Thursday at the campaign trail.

Treasury Secretary, Jack Lew, said earlier this week, “What she did to free people on an individual basis and what she did afterward – that’s a legacy of what an individual can do in a democracy.”

According to New York Times, the back of the $10 bill will have Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, and Sojourner Truth. The back of the $5 bill will have Marian Anderson, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

A lot do not know that removing Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill was up for a vote in 2015 starting with an online petition through a grassroots campaign called “Women on 20s.” According to usatoday.com, the top four nominees were Harriet Tubman, Wilma Mankiller, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Rosa Parks. Tubman won with a total of 118,328 votes and Roosevelt was close behind with 111,227 votes.

The new 20 dollar bills will be distributed in year 2020. Coincidence or not? I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
