October 31st, a day filled with ghosts, zombies, costumes, and candy. A child's dream of dressing up and getting free candy. To some people, Halloween is just like any other day, and to others its a challenge. Who can scare the best? Who has the best costume? Who can get the most candy?
Whats my opinion you might ask...
Its not the same
As a child, I loved the month of October as Halloween rolled around and the costume ideas scattered through my brain.I would love the moment I got to pick out my favorite costume at the store, and when I found one I NEEDED to get it or else I wouldn't make it through the day.
Ever since I stopped trick or treating the evening of October 31st was just filled with watching scary movies or being with friends. I don't get the same excitement sitting on the couch with a bag of candy watching a movie.
It may be going out of style but I lived for the moment when I would grab a pillow case and go door to door looking for candy. My neighbors would always laugh or make a joke at my costume, and my grandparents around the corner would always sneak in a 5 dollar bill.
Halloween definitely wont be the same this year now that I'm in college, especially since its still 82 degrees in New Jersey. Remember when it snowed and they canceled Halloween?
Yeah, definitely not the same.
