Let's cut to the chase, we've all been there. Halloween rolls around, and we still don't have a costume for the parties that are about to happen. You could order a costume off of Amazon with your glorious student prime account, but even that could put you out anywhere from $30 to $75. Being a student means that you most likely are not loaded, and your ramen proves it. Still stumped on ideas? Here's how to properly do Halloween on a budget.
There's the option of the sexy costume.
In pop culture, you'll always see frat parties with half-naked girls wearing self-proclaimed "sexy" costumes. These consist of booty shorts, a bra/bralette/crop top, and heels. You're more than welcome to do this! Find these things in your closet and you're set. Just make it obvious what you are. You don't want to end up like Karen trying to explain to everyone who you are.
You could go the funny route.
Let's be honest, everyone in college loves memes. We thrive off of them. What better way to celebrate the spookiest time of year than impersonating your favorite meme! Do you have a green shirt? You can be Pepe, dat boi, or Kermit. A yellow sweater and construction paper? You can be Arthur. There are millions of ideas, but this girl had the right idea.
Group costumes are always a great idea.
This is honestly one of my favorite options. As long as you and your friends own basically the same style of shirt or color outfit, you can throw together anything. They can either be extremely put together, or they can look sloppy. As long as you're having fun, none of that matters!
Or, you can go all out and become the master of DIY costumes.
If you have impeccable makeup skills, you've already won Halloween. Creativity is key and adding that little extra magic to your costume will put you over the edge. Putting on your best face AND having a killer DIY costume gives you an advantage, and will definitely give you the confidence to enjoy your night.
There are so many options, but these are just the most conventional ones. No matter what you do, enjoy yourself. Is it even Halloween if you can't enjoy yourself? Throw together the best DIY costume you can in five minutes and party. If you're still at a loss for an idea, check out Pinterest. They always have the best (and affordable) ideas!
Happy Halloween!
