Everyone has that love/hate relationship with the gym. We love the satisfaction we get from working hard in the gym, but the pain and work... not so much. Let's be real, going to the gym takes a lot of courage. Here are fourteen thoughts that everyone has while at the gym, whether they want to admit it or not.
1. "Why are there so many people here?"
I knew that I should have come earlier. This will be a stressful workout.
2. Those high expectations for yourself.
"I'm totally going to workout for a full hour today. I got this."
*Five minutes into your workout
"Ok, maybe just 45 minutes. That's ok. It's all good."
3. "I'm just going to lay here for a bit before I do my plank."
4. When your favorite song comes on.
"YES! I love this song! Ok, I'm pumped, it's time to step it up!"
5. "Is this even working? It sure as hell better be."
I better not be doing all of this hard work for nothing or we are going to have a problem.
6. "Why does this person keep looking at me? STOP!"
I am here to get in shape, just like you. Let me do my thing and I will let you do yours.
7. Everything is a competition.
"I can't let this person next to me on the treadmill run a farther distance. I have to win."
8. "I swear that guy is ALWAYS here."
I swear he lives here.
9. "Can you please stop grunting, it's not THAT hard."
Nobody wants to hear it.
10. "Out of ALL of the treadmills in this place why did you have to choose the one right next to me? Go away."
WHY?!?!?!
11. "How does that girl look like that? Why is she even working out?"
I'm literally working out to look like that.
12. "Did I put deodorant on? Man, I smell..."
This is embarrassing. I bet everyone smells me.
13. "I should really go in the weight room... but maybe not because they can smell fear...nope, not going."
Plus the cute boys are always in there.
14. "Wow, I feel so refreshed. I can't wait to come back, and do it all again tomorrow."
