This is actually a really hard topic to put into words. I had to write about it because the statement is so true. I came from a big family -- there are six of us. I just happen to be the oldest so maybe I'm biased but the love I have for my family is greater than any love I've ever experienced in my life. Now before you go all crazy please understand, this is my personal experience. I'm only 20 years old, so my life has not been that long.
At this point in my life, I can't explain a greater love than the love I have for them and I'm going to tell you why. I moved off to college so now that I'm away from them I do get homesick. It's not home I actually miss though, I miss them. I miss seeing them every single day when I wake up in the morning.
Here are some reasons why I don't have a greater love than I do for them.
1) They can make you smile in whatever mood you're experiencing.
But really -- whenever I am upset, my sister can always say something dumb or my dad can make a lame joke which makes me crack a smile even when I don't want to.
2) They can pick on you for no good reason and it is completely okay.
They can totally make fun of that bad zit you've had on your head for a week straight or comment on the fact that you are getting a little chubby. They can do this because they love you and are only saying it out of concern or... just to be annoying.
3) They're the only ones you can't stay mad at forever.
I mean let's be real, you basically see them every single day. You can't stay mad at them for something you didn't like that they did. It's basically impossible. I couldn't even go a day trying to ignore my sister.
4) They stay with you throughout any situation.
No matter what weird situation you get yourself into, they will be right by your side through it all. Even if they don't agree with what you did.
5) They believe in you when you don't believe in yourself.
They'll pick you up and encourage you to do something that you think you can't do.
6) You can tell them anything and they won't judge you for it.
Whatever you decide to do is your choice and they will love and support you with whatever you choose.
7) They will be completely honest with you.
If you're doing something dumb, they will be completely honest with you.
8) They will help guide you when you don't know what to do.
Again they will be honest. If you don't know what to do they'll help you out and try to lead you in the right direction.
9) They will love you through thick and thin.
The most important thing that I hold onto in my life is my family. They are the most important people because of all the reasons listed above and many more.
