As graduation comes for your graduate, the key thing to ask them is "What do you want for graduation?" If your graduate is anything like how I was back when I was graduating they would say "I don't know." Then you feel like that you are stuck, and feel compelled to write a check for your graduate. If you want to skip that route and get a graduation gift that will make your stubborn graduate happy then stick around for this list.
WARNING: this may include having to ask low-key questions such as "What do you need for your dorm? Or what do you need for college?" or just getting into their personal life. If you are a friend that is easy, but if you're a parent, I wish you good luck!
1. Pepper spray
They are going to love this! I got this last year and it was my favorite thing, fortunately (or unfortunately) I have not had the chance to use it.
2. College merchandise
Either your graduate is going to college or leaving college, college merchandise is always a great gift to give them! Anything from hoodies to t-shirts to coffee cups, it will make a great gift.
3. Bedding
Because bedding is the number one thing, your graduate will need for their new home, bonus if you get approval from the graduate on the bedding you get them!
4. Any eligible royal in Great Britain
Although Prince Harry has been officially off the market, rumor has it that Louis Spener, Prince Harry's cousin is still single. This is surely impossible, but one can dream. For my Big Emily, if she was able to get a date with a royal she would have been head over heels.
5. Car accessories or a car
A car is not a bad idea, but if you are on the cheap side a cute bumper sticker, steering wheel cover or something to block the windshield from being hot when it is in a parking lot is good as well.
6. Bathing suit or anything for a summer beach trip
The summer is a good time to soak up the sun and go to the beach. So getting your graduate anything for the beach trip they are going to will be a plus! For my best friend Brooke, it was the best gift she got for her graduation.
7. Anything that your graduate may need for their new home.
Besides bedding, your graduate may need a bean bag chair, printer, paper, kitchen stuff, etc. So if you get them what they need, that would be helpful for them.
8. Food
No explanation needed.
9. Upgrade their phone
Nothing will make your graduate happier than getting a new phone.
10. Gas cards
Gas has gotten very expensive, so if you get them gas money, they will cheer in happiness.
11. Supplies for their hobbies
If they sew, hunt, paint, draw, or they area DIY master, if you get them things for their hobbies it will advance them in their craft and you may get a little gift later on.
12. And if all else fails, just write a check.
If you have the most stubborn graduate, this will be the safest bet you could take, but I'm hoping you at least were able to do one of the 11 listed above.
