Thank You For The Past Four Years

With high school coming to a close for the 2016 class, there are a few people that many of us have not gotten to thank. The past four years have been a good ride but, in the end, we graduated with a high school diploma so thank you for that. I have learned a lot of lessons thanks to all of my fellow graduates and teachers, and I cannot express how thankful I am for each one of you but I am going to try...

I want to thank the friends I made in classes who helped me pass. Thank you for teaching me everything over again because I took classes that I don't understand. You contributed to me getting into college and I can never thank you enough for that. For turning my F into Cs, it is a bigger thing than you think.

Next, a thank you to my teachers. Thank you for giving me work all the time especially at the end of the year, not to just keep us busy, but to keep us learning until the last possible moment. Some of my teachers I have become friends with and I will definitely come back and visit them next year. They made me want to be the person that they see, and made sure that my parents see I can do it. Some of my teachers I aspire to be, and others I do not. Yet, even the teachers I did not see eye to eye with, I learned lessons from. Such as beware of certain fashion choices, and that people make mistakes and not to take them too personally even if you don't like them. Last and most importantly you will graduate and never have to see them again so tolerate them for a period and don't irritate them too much because they will make that period seem like three hours.

To my in-school friends. Looking back I wonder if we hung out not in school, if our friendship would have lasted? On the flip side you could of been my best friend but we never gave it a chance to grow. But thank you anyway for making the school days more entertaining. Thank you for always being my partner so I don't get stuck with someone who doesn't do the work or who I simply don't want to work with. I wish you the best of luck in college and hopefully we'll see each other around.

Thank you to the students in my grade that I have probably not spoken a word to outside the classroom. You are a part of my 2016 class. Together as a whole we have made it through all four years, as a group. It will be weird not to see all your faces next year, but around town next year, it will be refreshing to see you on breaks. You were all a part of my history and I will be happy to see you all at our reunion in 25 years.

Thank you to my friends. The time is here that we are spending our last few days together at high school.Thank you for sticking with me for these years. I know I can sometimes be a pain, but I just want to remind you as I have picked you to be my friend you accepted me as a friend whether you like it or not. I know that I will see you throughout the summer and you will still be with me, but at least we're done with school.

Thank you to my high school. The spirit we had for it through DEVs made school just a more enjoyable place. From spirit weeks to student sections at sports games, there was never a dull moment. There is no doubt in my mind that I will miss the spirit next year and the community that we have as a high school. Thank you for all the experiences you gave me. No matter how much school work was given, whenever I think back on high school I will have a smile on my face.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
