I'd like to start with making sure that it's known I'm not far from my boyfriend at all. He's about an hour and a half away and occasionally two hours with bad city traffic. The title to this is A "Sorta" Long Distance Relationship because although he's only two Netflix episodes of Grey's Anatomy away, it feels like more than that sometimes. There are always negatives and positives to relationships and many of the times I feel like I definitely get the best of both worlds.
The Bad
They're Never Physically There
It seems that whenever you really need a hug, a pick me up, or just to have them there, they can't be.
School Always Gets in the Way
Homework, tests, meetings, clubs. You name it. There's never enough time for calls or FaceTiming.
You Don't Know Their New Friends
When you do ask about their day, you seem to be confused as to who Kevin or Alex is.
Jumping to Conclusions is Easy
Since you're not there, you never know what they're up to or where they are.
No Hugs for Weeks
Let's face it, this is by far the worst one.
The Good
You Meet A Lot of People
Since you go to different schools, you meet all of their friends.
There's Always Something to Talk About
With new people and a new environment, there is always new drama that you don't know about.
FACETIMES!
The FaceTimes are longer, more fun, and you get to see the other. Even if it is just through a screen.
Learn to Not Take Them for Granted
When you finally see them again you learn to be grateful for the limited time you spend together.
Reuniting is the Best
Weeks without seeing them and then you finally do, it is the most amazing feeling.
In the end, it's all worth it; the bad and the good. I've learned to live by the saying "Nothing good comes easy."
