Going Out On The Weekend, As Told By 'Friends'

Going Out On The Weekend, As Told By 'Friends'

Ah, the weekend. Although Saturdays and Sundays are for relaxation, watching reality TV, and catching up on the sleep you've inevitably been missing out on all week, weekend nights are a different story. When Friday night rolls around, college students finally have the chance to hang out somewhere other than the library and blow off some steam.

At first when your friends ask if you want to go out, you're a little hesitant because, after all, you haven't slept much since last weekend.

But then you realize you're in your 20s.

When your friends get a group picture, and you aren't feeling your hottest.

But when you get to the bar and start dancing, all of your insecurities are forgotten.

You see someone you used to have a crush on and secretly think:

So you turn to your best friend and say:

After you've had a few drinks, you become extra touchy feely with your friends and probably you start to think you're invincible.

Your friends ask if you have had too many drinks, to which you say:

And you start to rationalize things.

When you make your way to the bathroom and catch a glimpse of that stone cold fox in the mirror.

And while you're in the bathroom, someone tells you she likes your shirt and you guys instantly become best friends.

When you make your way back out into the bar and catch a glimpse of two freshmen making out.

But then you get a little upset about how single you actually are.

You and your friends start debating getting food after the bar closes, but aren't sure if you have the funds.

One of your friends suggests getting Chinese, but you're really in the mood for pizza and you get a little defensive about it.

And then you end up getting a few slices more than you originally planned.

After getting food, you and your crew start the walk home because "it's only a 15 minute walk, and we'll burn off the calories we just ate!"

And there's always that one friend who befriends every animal you pass.

Then the next morning rolls around, and you hear someone talking way too loudly.

But it's OK because you'll probably end up doing it all again tonight.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
