Have you ever asked God to show you what to do? Have you asked him to show you what path you are meant to take or to show you what is meant to happen? You pray for God to show you His will in your life and when He does, how accepting are we of what He has planned for our lives? When He shows you that your life is meant to take a different path than the one we had imagined, do we listen to Him or do we avoid the change? God has this amazing future planned for us, so why when our life changes to follow His plan, we resist?
I was the one resisting God's plan lately. I prayed for months for God to show me what I needed to do and when I refused because I thought I heard Him wrong or it wasn't supposed to happen that way, He made it happen. The change that was meant to make my life better happened with or without my consent. It happened while I fought every step along the way and now I can see how stubborn I was for an amazing change. I heard loud and clear what God had planned for me, but I didn't want to hear it. I prayed for God to show me His will and when He did, I was blind to it.
This change that I resisted for so long turned out to be the best thing that ever happened in my life, and I resisted His will for so long. I feared change because that meant I wouldn't know what my future was supposed to look like. I was afraid of taking a chance because it didn't seem familiar. I was scared to death to be alone and to face my new reality without my best friend by my side. God gives you exactly what you need and always provides for what He takes away. He always gives you something better when He takes something away.
When God closes a window, He always opens a door. In my case, a door closed, and I wouldn't quit banging on it for it to open again. When He takes something out of your life, He always replaces it with something amazing. God won't show you gold and give you silver. He will always give you exactly what you pray for and what you deserve. You just have to sometimes accept the change and hurt to be blessed.
