We should all stop eating meat.

After months of dabbling in pescetarianism, veganism, and vegetarianism, I decided what I should and shouldn't eat in order to make my body feel the best it can be.

I decided to stop eating meat and here’s why:

1. Eating meat makes you more susceptible to heart disease.

Animal meat contains an enzyme called Neu5Gc, which clogs arteries and is not naturally found in humans but CAN be found in human tumors…

2. It can take up to 2 days to digest it.

Our intestines are really long and the meat we eat is sitting in there for two days….GROSS!

3. You won’t be protein deficient.

In fact, meat eaters tend to have far MORE protein than necessary for the human body….which in turn can make you lose bone calcium.

4. Environmental pollution.

Factory farming pollutes our water and soil more than anything else.

5. Animals in factory farms are overcrowded and tortured.

Beaks are clipped and there is no room for the animals to run around...they are injected with hormones and slaughtered SOLELY for unnecessary food.

6. Eating meat makes it harder to lose weight.

In fact, meat eaters are THREE TIMES more likely to become obese.

7. I’ve never felt more energized.

From personal experience, I really think my body agrees with my diet choices, I always feel full of energy!

8. Our biological makeup.

Our teeth are small, our jaws are small, and our fingernails are soft, we were not made to rip apart and eat meat.

9. We don’t NEED meat.

Simply put, we just don’t! Do your body and the environment a favor and cut it out of your diet.

Humans are able to find all the nutrition we need through solely plant-based foods...so do some research and make the switch. It’s time to help save.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
